Narrative CV

Dr. Wen-Hao Chang is a Distinguished Research Fellow at Academia Sinica. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from National Central University (NCU) in 2001. Dr. Chang joined the Department of Electrophysics at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) as an assistant professor in 2005 and became a full professor in 2012. In 2020, he joined the Research Center for Applied Sciences (RCAS) as the Acting Executive Officer of the Thematic Center for Quantum Photonics.

His research interests include light-matter interactions in low-dimensional semiconductor nanostructures, semiconductor quantum optics, and 2D layered materials. Dr. Chang has authored and co-authored more than 150 journal papers, with over 14,000 citations and an h-index of 53, according to Google Scholar (April 2025).

Dr. Chang has received several prestigious awards, including the Ta-Yu Wu Memorial Award (2010) and the Distinguished Research Award (2018) from the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) of Taiwan. He also received the Academic Award (2018) from the Sun Yat-Sen Academic and Cultural Foundation and the Achievement in Asia Award (Robert T. Poe Prize, 2020) from the International Organization of Chinese Physicists and Astronomers (OCPA). In 2020, Dr. Chang was elected as a Fellow of the Physical Society of Taiwan.
