魏培坤教授現任中央研究院應用科學研究中心(RCAS)主任兼研究員,專長於奈米光子學在生物感測應用上的研究。目前,他的研究重點包括數位奈米電漿技術、低成本生物感測晶片及高通量篩選(HTS)成像技術。魏教授於1994年獲得國立台灣大學電機工程博士學位,專攻積體光學,隨後在中央研究院原子與分子科學研究所(IAMS, AS)從事近場光學領域的博士後研究。自2000年加入應用科學研究中心(RCAS, AS)以來,魏教授致力於研究奈米科學與工程技術。

魏教授在積體光學、近場光學、奈米光子學與生物感測相關領域發表超過180篇國際期刊論文,並取得12項專利,其中3項技術已成功技轉。他所開發的創新生物感測晶片與成像技術榮獲2024年國家新創獎,並正與公司合作開發。

魏教授的奈米光子感測技術與多家國內外研究機構合作開發,合作機構包括東京大學機械工程系(光纖式感測技術)、北海道大學(RIES,奈米結構感測晶片)、國立台灣大學應用力學研究所(PCR產物檢測)、以及中央研究院物理研究所(高通量篩選(HTS)技術應用於生物分子交互作用研究)。此外,作為導師,魏教授指導來自合作機構的研究生,培育奈米製程、光子元件與生物感測領域的新興人才。在學術服務方面,魏教授近年來擔任中央研究院關鍵議題中心(RCCI, AS)學術諮詢委員,並於2024年擔任OPTIC Taiwan會議主席,還是國科會矽光子計畫(NSTC)審查委員。

未來,魏教授的研究目標是將生物感測晶片與高通量篩選(HTS)成像技術推向實際應用,並聚焦於農藥殘留、環境荷爾蒙及感染性病毒的檢測,為公共衛生與環境監測提供先進解決方案。
